Seattle, the Emerald City, is famous for its stunning landscapes, vibrant culture, and innovative spirit. In March 2025, we attended a pelvic health conference there, which became a highlight of our year. Not only did we gain invaluable knowledge from the conference, but we also explored the unique charm that Seattle has to offer. Join us as we recount our adventures and discoveries in this captivating city!
The Pelvic Health Conference
Let's start with the reason behind traveling to Seattle- the Herman and Wallace Connect 2025 Conference. This conference was a gathering of professionals committed to advancing knowledge and practices in pelvic health. We had the opportunity to listen to and learn from leading doctors and therapists in the field, as well as participate in hands-on workshops. The event provided a platform for sharing the latest research, techniques, and innovations in the industry.
The atmosphere buzzed with energy, filled with passionate discussions and networking opportunities. Attendees ranged from seasoned experts to newcomers eager to learn. Sessions covered a wide array of topics, including endometriosis, pelvic venous disease and pelvic pain management, eating disorders, gender-affirming care for all clients and the importance of pelvic floor health for overall wellness of patients of all ages including children. For example, one workshop highlighted "The Rehab Provider's Role in Infant Care" and another workshop was a great review, the "Squat Analysis Lab".

We loved all the presenters at the event but what truly stood out for us was the opportunity to engage in networking with some of the leading experts in pelvic health. The chance to connect with these professionals was not only exciting but also incredibly enriching. We found ourselves in meaningful conversations, exchanging ideas and discussing case studies. The passion and dedication exhibited by these experts were truly inspiring, and it was a privilege to learn from their experiences.
We had a fantastic time at the conference, and a delightful surprise was Dr. Courtney McGeary winning the welcome basket. It was filled with pelvic health samples, including pelvic wands, lubrications, vaginal moisturizers, and even a squatty potty! It was quite an adventure bringing all that back home in a carry-on size suitcase.
The conference was incredibly enjoyable, but we were excited to explore the city during our free time. Keep reading to join us on the truly fun part of our trip!
Exploring Seattle
Seattle is a city that effortlessly blends nature and urban life. With its iconic skyline, lush parks, and waterfront views, there is no shortage of sights to explore, and the seafood is incredible.
Pike Place Market
Our first stop was the famous Pike Place Market. This bustling marketplace is a feast for the senses, with vibrant stalls selling everything from fresh seafood to handmade crafts. The lively atmosphere is enhanced by street performers and the sounds of vendors calling out to passersby.

We wandered through the market, sampling delicious local treats and admiring the craftsmanship of local artisans. The highlight was watching the fishmongers throw fish to each other, a tradition that never fails to entertain visitors. In fact, the market attracts over 10 million visitors annually, making it a must-see destination.
The Space Needle

No trip to Seattle is complete without a visit to the Space Needle. This iconic structure offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city and surrounding mountains. We took the elevator to the observation deck, where stunning vistas showcased the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
The experience was surreal: standing high above the city with the wind in our hair and the sun shining down. We snapped photos and took in the views, from the shimmering waters of Puget Sound to the majestic peaks of the Cascade Range. Did you know that the Space Needle is 605 feet tall? It was the tallest building in the U.S. when it was completed in 1962!
Chihuly Garden and Glass

Chihuly Garden and Glass was one of the most breathtaking stops on our Seattle adventure. The moment we stepped inside, we were surrounded by vibrant colors, intricate shapes, and larger‑than‑life glass sculptures that felt almost otherworldly. We were lucky enough to catch a live glass‑blowing demonstration, which gave us a whole new appreciation for the artistry and precision behind each piece. After wandering through the galleries and the stunning outdoor garden installations, we stopped at the bar for a tasty charcuterie board and cocktails.
If you’re visiting Seattle, this exhibit is an absolute must‑see for its creativity, beauty, and immersive atmosphere.

Wings Over Washington

Wings Over Washington was one of the most unexpectedly magical parts of our trip. This immersive flying‑theater experience swept us above Washington’s mountains, coastlines, forests, and iconic landmarks, making us feel like we were soaring right through the Pacific Northwest. Between the stunning visuals, motion seats, and special effects, it was the perfect blend of adventure and storytelling. If you’re visiting Seattle and want something fun, unique, and a little bit thrilling, this attraction is absolutely worth the stop.
Underground Tour

The Underground Tour was highly recommended to us by a patient who is from Seattle and it was definitely one of the most fascinating parts of our trip. Stepping beneath the city felt like traveling back in time, wandering through the original streets and storefronts that now sit hidden below modern‑day sidewalks. Our guide blended history with humor, sharing stories about Seattle’s early days, its rebuild after the Great Fire, and the oddities that shaped the city’s character. It was a perfect way to experience a side of Seattle most visitors never get to see. Our favorite part was the toilet, naturally!
Favorite Food and Drink Spots

The Pink Door - OUR ABSOLUTE FAVORITE! This restaurant does not have a sign (unless we missed it lol), it literally just has a pink door as it's entrance. This place had the BEST gluten free Bolognese that we have ever had- we are still dreaming about it! They also had an amazing scallop dish for the seafood lovers out there! From the food to the ambience, we give this a 5 star!

The George - This is located in ___ hotel. This place is absolutely stunning and had the yummiest and prettiest drinks! As we were leaving, we saw they offered a high noon tea in the cutest library section, and we definitely want to go back to try this too!

Alder & Ash - We came to this restaurant because a friend said that the Bolognese was "to die for" but unfortunately, they did not have gluten free pasta, so we were not able to try it. However, Dr. Courtney can attest that the oysters were in fact incredible! Also, the ambience of this restaurant was perfect for a date night!
